Ok, maybe I'm wrong, but my thought was that to be able to choose the way you produce the wordlist you have to understand what's in it. But then the principles used can of course be said in english as well. A summary: I maintain the swedish wordlists in Debian. I use a list slightly different from the speling.org one. It's based on the work of Göran Andersson. Differences: 1) Görna has made a distinction between words that can make compound words and those that cannot. 2) Göran has more words (e.g. Swedish geographic names) 3) Görans wodlist contains no abbreviations (e.g. AB, ATP, bl a) 4) The list in sol.x.y has several (~1000) words of the kind "bidragsgivar", which is not a whole word, but is supposed to be part of a compound word. They should not be in the list. OTOH, Görans list has no function for checking as speling.org. How do we combine the best parts of these two? In my opinion, a plain word list is not sufficient for swedish.
